The AUPROSPECTORS will hold it's final meeting/outing of 2019 on Nov. 9
Sign-in will starts at 9am I am working on bringing in some special guests to speak to the members and guests, some you don't want to miss! In order to have the guest speakers, we will need a confirmation of the number who will be attending, not only to be sure the guest speakers and experts will have a great audience, I will need a headcount for the number of attendees for the BBQ dinner. I have to have this number by the Thursday before the outing to advise the BBQ restaurant providing the meat and fixings to prepare the proper amount.

The Auburn, AL chapter is now listed in the ACCOUNT PREFERENCES page under CHAPTER AFFILIATION, please select Auburn, AL as your chapter if you are a member or wish to join the chapter.

The 2020 year will kick off in February on the 2nd Saturday at the Golden Corral at the intersection of US-280 and Pepperell Parkway in Opelika, AL (Auburn's twin city) for officer elections and planning of the year.

Remember, this is YOUR chapter and the AUPROSPECTORS welcomes you to come and join in the fun and comradery. We are fortunate to have such experienced gold miners in our group who can assist with everything from setup of equipment to fine-tuning your dredge, high-banker to the basics of panning.

Let's end the 2019 season with a bang and enjoy the new lease while planning for the future. Members Warren Wyman, Aaron McNeal, VP Steve McKinstry, and I along with Mayor Tommy Miller and Deputy James Johnson have worked hard to make this untamed property accessible, but we NEED more help to bring the lease to its full potential for camping, especially for those who have campers or smaller RV's and creek access. I have seen some of the gold recovered from the lower end of the leased section of the creek and as of now, it is only accessible by hiking downstream with equipment. Our plans include an access road to the lower end with another camping area. That area has some prime gold catching features and from lode samples taken off a hill, the quartz shows hydrothermal gold and one sample held free-milling gold. We know due north of the lease of a substantial lode deposit confirmed by a geologist and an old mine a few miles upstream on a tributary to the creek. This season we have seen some nice gold including a few pickers come out of the creek. Let's pull together and make this lease the best it can be!

I have contacted the county again about improvements to the dirt road to the lease and was assured work would be done to smooth the road.

Hope to see you on Nov. 9th!

Happy Prospecting and may your pans be heavy and yella!

    Adam Broach,
    Alabama State Director
    President, AUPROSPECTORS
