Hey guys, I recently bought a Keene Mini Max and want to pack it into some remote areas on a backpack. The highbanker has a 12v battery operated pump so I wanted to ask those with experience what they would recommend using to power the highbanker? I saw online that amps makes a big different in how long you can run for. But typically the more amps the more weight you will be lugging around. Ultimately I would like to run the highbanker for 5-6 hours a day for a whole week. But since I will be out in the middle of nowhere (2.5 hour drive to the nearest refill point) I would like to recharge my battery at camp. Do any of you use generators, or solar panels to refill the charge on your batteries when out in the sticks?

Deep cycle battery will last longer than normal ones. But you will probably have to run it to find out how much time it will give you. Should be a few hours easily.

I use a Duracell sealed lead acid Deep Cycle battery. I have two. One is 20 ah, the other is 35 ah. I run two 1100 gph electric pumps on my high banker. I can run about three hours on the small one and six hours on the large one (ah/electric pump amps=run time). I love them and will not use anything else.

I highly recommend the briefcase solar chargers at Harbor Freight. I leave it attached to my deep cycle marine battery and can run a Johnson 2200 gph bilge pump for days without missing a beat. Silent and deadly.
