    Hello all,

I am a new GPAA member and am also a member of my local chapter of "Team RWB" . Team RWB (Red White and Blue) can be found at https://www.teamrwb.org/ and I have copied the mission statement just to give you an idea of what the organization is about. We are an international organization of active duty and veterans that focus on veteran activities and also helping the local veteran community through volunteering, etc. Please understand that I'm not trying to recruit via this forum, I just want to lay down the background to my request.

    MISSION STATEMENT:
"To enrich the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity.
Every year, more than 250,000 active duty service members transition out of the military, joining the 3.5 million post-9/11 veterans already living in communities nationwide. They face many challenges including isolation, weight gain, lack of purpose, and other health issues.

Team Red, White & Blue is the antidote to the isolation and health challenges they face. We insist that all veterans have the opportunity to reclaim what was most precious about their military service: an unwavering sense of belonging born of challenges that show us what each of us is capable of. Together, we strive to make tomorrow better. Together, we will increase mental and physical health. Together, we will find strength and success."

My question is, is it possible to setup an event, legally, where I, as the GPAA member, can host a small RWB team for an event on a GPAA claim? The purpose of this event would be multi tiered.
    1. To introduce Active Duty, Veterans and their families to the joys of prospecting and to some of the associated equipment.
    2. To teach them about basic geological events which cause the gold and other mineral deposits as well as general desert knowledge.
    3. To get them and their families off the couch and out exercising without calling it "exercise".
    4. To give back to the claim and to mother nature by cleaning up modern trash, while leaving items of historical context in place for others to enjoy.

I'm not sure who to ask or how to go about setting this up, if it is even allowed etc.
We are looking at a specific claim, "Placer Pete" in California since it is a GPAA claim and also is close to Fort Irwin, where the majority of the RWB team lives.

What coordination with GPAA does Team RWB need to make?
What coordination with the claim owners does Team RWB need to make?

Any guidance on this will be greatly appreciated!!

The Friends of Placer Pete's outing is being held this week in the Bartow area from Tuesday Oct. 27th to Sunday Nov 1st. We have confirmed that Kevin Hoagland Executive Director of Development at GPAA / LDMA - Host, Gold Trails television series will be attending this outing on Wednesday and Thursday to provide metal detecting lessons and help you learn how to find gold in the desert! This outing is FREE and you are welcome to join us throughout the event. You can camp if you wish but please be advised this is a dry camp area. There are multiple hotels in the area with in 30 mins of the claim if this fits your plans. Come on out and have a great time finding gold! I truly hope we can see you out there.
Placer Pete AKA Steve and Phil

The Claim is in Southern California
    San Bernardino County
    Near Barstow

This is a relatively easy claim to get to. It can be reached from either Barstow or from Hinkley Ca. Easiest route is from Interstate 15 to route 58 west. Head to Hinkley. Exit 58 at Hinkley road north until it becomes a dirt road. When you reach the yellow Road Not Maintained sign along with Limited use area sign bear right (Slight "Y" in the road). Road sign is marked as BM6285 (google earth marks the road as CoRd20771). Follow road till you reach the intersection BM6285 and Fossil Bed Road. Follow signs to CG7210. Take CG7210 to CG7206 (slight left) DO NOT MISS THIS TURN - DO NOT CONTINUE ON CG7210 which heads off to the east. Take CG7206 to the claim (about .6 miles). Claim is well marked with Corner markers and discovery point. Be careful on CG7206 there are a couple of rough spots in the road. High clearance vehicle recommended but 4x4 really not required.
