    Hello All
I joined GPAA prior to the plague, so therefore I have yet to venture out. But I'm getting ready. But I keep reading about the LMDA and its "camps", locations, etc. I have left messages with the membership folks what's the difference(other than the price) but I guess they are locked down-

    1) Can GPAA members use the LDMA camps?
    2) What do LDMA members get that GPAA don't?
    3) Does LDMA have different claims from the GPAA?

I could swing the Lost Dutch fees, but I have been unable to get answers.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can enlighten me.

the LDMA is the Lost Dutchmans
GPAA is the Gold Prospectors Association of America

the GPAA has its own claims and LDMA can use them also just like any member.

the LDMA has properties that LDMA members can go to, use, camp on prospect etc... GPAA members are invited sometimes to Common Digs on LDMA outings and events see website or magazine for any fees or specifics of the outing. You can read about them in the GPAA magazine as dates of the common dirt parties or digs are listed there. i am sure you can find info on the web site too.

GPAA members that want to try out one of the LDMA properties can get a temporary pass to go and see what it is all about. hopefully you buy a membership after your visit.

LDMA members have exclusive use of the LDMA properties across the country that GPAA members do not. some of the LDMA properties are Patented claims.
most if not all LDMA properties have caretakers to assit you while there.

Although i am NOT a LDMA member i have always wanted to be but my work schedule does not permit the time to invest until i retire in the next 10 years. So go enjoy the LDMA properties if you are a member they are beautiful and the people you will meet there are the real treasure. you will make some of the best friends ever. i wish you a lot of happiness. and the gold is pretty darn good on all the properties as well.
    cheers!

if you camp a lot....the LDMA has alot to offer Outings, common digs, entertainment, gold draws on common digs ( that means everyone who attends gets some gold) good food, potlucks...a whole lot of fun.

if you are just a weekend prospector like me......GPAA is excellent and the claims are numerous across the country. Having a place to prospect with no hassle is really a wonderful advantage. You can camp on any BLM or Forrestry land. So that means you can camp on the GPAA claims for a while as well and there are no fees for camping. Camping is very primitive on most claims and you must pack in and haul out any trash, waste or other. And you need to fill in your holes you dig....

from my experience the claims are not bad and all i have visited so far i have enjoyed and cant wait to return.

    have fun!
