    My buddy and are were looking into dredging with a 4" on a friend's private property. Went to acquire permit with the State and the lady said it would take up to 6 months?? Is this true? Is there an expedited process? I have never heard of a permit taking that long.

    Gold Pan Dan, permits taking that long shouldn't surprise anyone, it's the government and is in no hurry. I don't know if you've gone through the process yet but just a bit of advice, does your friend own the mineral right? If he isn't sure he more than likely doesn't. I would hate for you guy's going through the aggravation and in the end, it gets denied because of that.
