    Recently retired new member here.

    I live in Las Cruces and just bought a Gold Monster 1000 hoping to do some nugget shooting after an overload of YouTube videos. Unfortunately my first outing in the desert nearby didn’t go very well. A lot of spent cases and lead.

    I know this isn’t AZ and that our club has three claims in Hillsboro and I’m headed that way tomorrow; but does anyone know of any places further south, closer to Las Cruces that might be worth taking a look at?

    Thank you all and looking forward to learning more about this great hobby.

    The Burro mountains by Silver city are worth looking at. There’s some gold.

    Thank you sir, I’ll check it out. Tried the Greyback Claim in Hillsboro without much success yesterday. Not a very good place for detecting I’m afraid. Met some really nice folks out of Silver City though so it wasn’t a total bust.
