Planning a road trip, hoping to leave in a week. I am only 2wd capable with a small camper. I can only pan a crevice at this time, but hope to expand on that. I am looking to spend some time at the Greyback claim in NM and other claims near Wickenburg, AZ, then probably check out Quartzite, AZ. From that point I will checkout other options for my trip. I hope to reach Greyback by 01/20/21. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Would also like to meet other members to help show me the ropes. Also does anyone have a good recommendation for an inexpensive handheld GPS. Thanks

If you have a smartphone the the gps works very well. I use BaseMap app on my phone, there are others similar. I'm able to enter the cordinates of the corners so I always know I'm in the claim.

Mike, I was wondering the same thing, but have resorted to adding pins to an individual folder on google maps called prospecting. It has worked thus far or at least gotten me close enough. Stephen

I'm a NM greenhorn. I'm interested in any news on NM claims. I'm open for small group outings within the state especially day trips. I'm centrally located in Albuquerque.

I went to the Greyback group in NM last year for a couple days. Ran concentrates through my Royal trommel. There is fine (FINE) gold we found along the banks 100yds from bridge. Its there if you want to work for it. Ground was pretty moist so drywasher may not work. Good luck.
