I am a 61 yr old mechanical designer with 40 yrs exp in oil & gas. I was planning to do a tour of some to the claims. I only have pan a metal detector best for relics. Can buy some equipment but wanting a better hands on to know what would better suit me. Trying to get out of here within a week (weather permit). I have a small camper I will be taking with me.

Would love to meet you somewhere to do some prospecting. I was hoping to run up around Silverwood Lake area soon to see if there was water in the creek. There's one active claim but two expired ones above it that I've explored. It is also a very easy spot to get a sluice in the water and run some concentrates (I live in an apartment and don't have room for a clean up unit) I am always up for a trip out to the desert as well. Easy diggings out there if you have the equipment.

Another spot I have been interested in checking out is up by Red Mountain. That would be a detecting / dry washing adventure as well. If we want water I think we'll have to head up into the snow near Big Bear.

Sorry for the delayed response, it was a busy day yesterday.

I am in Bellville, TX and was trying to leave this coming Monday. My son will be with me on this first outing. I expect to be around Quartzite by Thursday, no later that Friday.
