It would be really helpful if there were a national map with all of the available claims "pinned". For purposes of planning trips it would be invaluable. is there such a thing? Thanks

Not that I know of, but that's a great idea. Even if done on a state by state basis.

Jeff... I know that you can pull the national geological survey and over lay with google earth. I have the link on my lap top and will give it to you via this post later tonight... if it helps. Watching the news now. I also place the GPAA claims towards that same overlay so I can see if any claims in area. Along with BLM and National Forest overlay... it gives you a great layout of options available. If you like... I could give you instructions of how.

It just seems like something that the GPAA would or should have. I am sure that there are many of us that plan trips to certain destinations and having a map such as this would make it so much easier to say "oh look there's like 5 claims on our way to the grandkids house ". Might generate some enthusiasm.

I hear ya... it would make the process faster rather than scanning the book for each state. Sorry I couldn't help...
