Such a shame we could not get together. But I understand time constraints and the matters of life. I look forward to your posts as I will be doing the same. I have some GPS cords I've been looking at and am overlaying with topo maps. Mainly highbanking with some MD'ing. Just need a better setup with the MD.

I just purchased a Fisher Gold Bug Pro, flying down just to do some prospecting on sites. If things go well I'll be returning with camper. I had thought this association would be more informative but it looks like I was wrong. What part of FL are you from? I'm in Mobile.

Not sure about Vulture bait but camping just south of there is good. I have come to Yahoo, Kings a few times haven't tried too hard detecting but it is a great location. Many miners in the area, nice and quiet as well. Camping here is A+ just rough roads and some sand aka the AZ desert.

To check out aces and eight s but recently he heard that there is a lot more gold being prospected in northern Arizona. Would Arizona be my better bet?

Those claims in Morristown/Wickenburg area are some of my favorite claims to work, I only use a Goldbug 2 but drywashing will do good on those claims. I'm sorry your not getting the responses back that you want, but the claim reports posted for those claims your interested in should give you a lot of useful information. There is a lot of good camping sites on the Maricopa Group claims. I've camped on Vulture Bait a few times, the road/trail can be a little rough getting there but had no problems in my F350 Crew cab. The Goldbug Pro should do good on the claim and go a little deeper than the GB 2 I use. Drywashing should do good as well being I always see signs of drywashing on those claims. GPS and I always use down loaded Google maps to help me get to the claims to make sure I don't take a wrong road/trail. I hope some of this helps and good luck, when you get back post your claim reports and let us know how you did.

Just returned from my trip. I highly recommend a gps with the go to feature. As much as I researched on maps, when your on the ground it looks much different. Maricopa group is well marked with signs, after that I didnt see anything for Vulture Bait. Met some others there with a GPS and turned out we were dead center of claim. This after driving back and forth and checking all trails. Some tight turns after MG, 2wd ok up to this point. Metal detected and found lots of trash, no gold. Didn't get to check entire claim due to time constraints. Nice area around VB, MG looks ok depending on which part your on. Corners are well marked. Panned a few areas on MG, no luck. Good luck in the future.

Good news to me that I can still access some claims since I’ll be driving a Mazda 6(plan on trading it in and getting a truck if I can prove to myself I can make money off gold mining..2-3oz~Monthly) but sorry that you didn’t catch any gold this time :/ would you take the trip again just to try and catch gold this time or was that very demoralizing for you?

I think the forum is where I am going to find out information that is more on my entry level of understanding. We ( wife Lori and I ) are new here. Thank you all who have posted here, it sheds light on a subject that a LOT of people apparently don't want to talk about openly. We joined GPAA to become part of a larger group that as a whole would work together for the good of all being able to find gold in their own way. That was the idea anyway. We enjoy the journey of the search. It is not so much the amount of gold, it is the magic of it. It is the way it makes you feel when you see it materialize in front of your face. The feeling and look of when you find your very first piece of gold is priceless. We don't want it all, but we want all to know the feeling. Peoples have been collecting this stuff for tens of thousands of years and have NO WAY COME CLOSE to getting it all. We enjoy reading your thoughts and ideas and hope to meet some of you in person. Good luck to all in all your journeys and may you find that thing you search for so heartily.
