Jason, I am fairly interested in this post. Can you fill me in a little bit more? What are your arragements, like do you have any sort of exploration permits or do you need them? For lodging are you using an RV, tents, or a basecamp? Are you working a claim or prospecting? Are you looking for an employee, a partner, or what? 100 MRE meals will only last 2 people about 2 weeks at 3 meals a day. What are the long term plans and end of season goals. What specific area are you planning on going to? When travelling to this area will we be able to get there by 2x2, 4x4, or plane? I am ready, and have been anticipating ending my career and moving into mineral prospecting. Your plan seems intriguiing. Send me more info to aaronsm321@gmail.com. I guess one more major question i have is, why Alaska? Wont your logistical preperation be easier, the financial burden be less, and your viable season be longer in the lower 48? A bit about myself: 31 years old About 6ft 220lb Worked Construction carpentry and remodeling for 10 years The past 4 years I have worked in management at a industrial oilfield manufacturing company My free time i spend outside, mushroom hunting in the spring, hunting in the fall, rockhounding all year.
