Classify your cons to at least 100 mesh for extremely fine powder gold. Use a magnet to go over the black sand while it's under water in the pan, kind of shaking at the same time. Save all of it to run again, and for later processing by another method I won't go into at this time. No matter the size of your gold, the closer the size of all material you're working, the easier it is to separate the gold.

I watched a gold cube demo at the Portland show a couple years ago, using Cape disappointment material. It can run down to 600 mesh gold. Loss was negligible.
For really fine stuff, and final cleanup, probably a miller table is the best bet, over trying to final pan it.

Going to be a slow process in any case.

Neglected to say that even as good as the Cube is, you are still going to have to final clean.

Don't have any experience with the Blue Bowl, but heard several tell that fine flour won't hold in it.

I agree with Arthur, If you have the time and patience the Miller table is the best way to recover the fine gold, it's slow & time consuming, but it works great for me. In my garage, I built a Miller table with a deep well (half miller table & half V rubber mat), you use a low water flow and most of the fine gold stays on flat miller table as the black sand goes down, there is rolly polly gold that goes down also, that's where the V rubber mat comes into play, the fine gold usually stays in the first 3-5 V's of the mat and then clean out those 5 V's into a pan & pan out, also what I did is drill a round hole on the side of the miller table, and take a nice fine brush to brush the gold into the hole while the water is running a little lower when the black sand is mostly gone. I bought some pay dirt from the beaches of Nome Alaska to fine tune the table and recovered most of the gold, and run it through a few times also.

I'm only 1&1/2 years into mining, but have learned a lot since then, if your handy, it's easy building a table like mine, takes time but you can build it to your specs & needs, I've done a few different designs but I think this latest is the best so far, always thinking of new ideas to improve it also, i'm recovering quite a lot of fine gold with it, it does take time, but you can work your pay dirt in the winter, make sure to classify it though, at least 30-50 mesh. I'm sure you can also buy miller tables, but make sure it has a deep well, i think this works best with water flow. I got the Nome Beach gold, Alaska Gold panning pay dirt 1/2 lb sale price $59.95, a lot of gold in it, a lot of fine & some nice chunky pieces, lots of black sand and very challenging, pretty much lots of fine in every small teaspoon, perfect for the miller table, you can classify it if you want, but I just run it the way it is. you bought their simple Miller table for fine gold for $109.oo? let me know how that works. Looks like they have a smooth rubber matting, I made my Miller table with acrylic and painted it with a green chalkboard paint with a deep well, seems to work good, i'm sure their design works well also.
Too bad your way down south in LA, too far for me to go, at this moment, just too busy, have you been to that claim before? I'm in the SF bay area, haven't been to any of the GPAA claims yet, hoping to check some out sometime.

Hello Steven, one more thing when using your miller table, good idea to get yourself a pair of magnify glasses 3.5x or better, doesn't have to be expensive ones, I bought cheap ones, works ok, except the led lights do not work very good, maybe i'll spend a little more on them next time, but good to see the fine gold your brushing.

and did some crevicing, got about 30 small flakes, was pretty hot though.

Sergio love it works great ran about a cup of black sand and found 22 specs of gold I would have lost it just panning the sand

I would run it through a few times, they have some really fine gold in the bag, with a cup of that dirt probably should have found more.
Usually with each small teaspoon i usually get from 8 to 14 small specs and some larger also. Good to hear.

Sergio it was not a pay-dirt bag went out to a old abandoned mine and filled a 5gal bucket with dirt ran it through my mini max sluice panned the black sand and ran that on my Miller table were in the Central Valley do you live I use to live in Merced
