Hi all! New member/new prospector here from Skagit County in Washington.

Safe to say that I'm a pretty terrible prospector thus far. I've found a tiny bit of gold, but I've still got a long way to go.

Anyone here from Skagit County? I'd be interested in meeting up with someone experienced who I could talk to. Lunch is on me!

    Happy to meet you all,
    Micah

Good evening, I just moved out of Washington this last March. I did alot of Prospecting in Washington. Most of my time was spent on the Skyomish River and the Stillaguamish River. Work the Sky above Gold Bar. And the stilly above Granite Falls. Didn't get rich but had some great days up in those areas. 1/2 to 3/4 of a gram is really good days in Washington. Olney creek is another one I found some gold on. Good luck

Good morning! New to the site, and prospecting too! Have not found anything yet, but still learning my detector! Anyone around Snohomish county?

Been said a lot before in other threads, contact the state director or the chapters in yours area.
    Most are good about replies.
Can be found on the chapters and director's pages on the site or the magazine.

For those who aren't aware, you need to have a copy of the gold and fish booklet with you. Can download and print (30+pages), pickup free at fish and game office, or purchase through a vendor.

Chris, might go back in and hit the delete on the duplicate "thank yous", it's on the top bar

Site can sometimes take a minute to show up,, and every time you hit reply, it generates another one.

Was up in Granite Falls this morning at an old old house using the detector. Had it on high trash, so didn't find much. but marked a LOT of stuff down 10/14 inches that might be worth digging later.

Was down to the river the other day at that small park off Jordan
Rd.. Did you have any luck there? I marked stuff I couldn't find, so who knows what it was! lol
