    Do red gravel areas possibly contain gold in New Mexico?  Mountain area.

    Red gravels are good layers to always check. It all depends what area of New Mexico you are in. I have found gold in red layers in Hillsboro and Orogrande area. Best bet is to sample, so not to waste time and effort.
