Is there a map of the United States with all the claims on it (like the LDMA has)? It'd be great if it was like the old push pin style. It doesn't have to be super tight resolution - we have the claims directory on the website to zoom in with. I will be retiring in a few years and I want to retire to a place that has claims in close proximity. Such a map might also be useful to other members that have to plan travel from afar for their trips. Thanks, gt

In the physical copy of the GPAA claims book it does have a push pin style map for each state. I'd just look state by state for the places you could actually see yourself retiring. The other nice aspect is the state maps also show the major gold regions in each state which should allow you to see areas that you could likely prospect outside of only GPAA claims as well.

Actually, it only has a pushpin style map for each county. The state map just shows counties highlighted.

Gerald, Once you have determined your retirement area(s) of choice, I would recommend getting the BLM topo maps of the area(s). Very helpful and useful, if for nothing else, to start a fire. LOL Bill

I appreciate the input - I have saved three of my old (paper) claims guides, so I guess I can start there. Was really hoping someone "important" from the GPAA might see this and jump on it...

I assume you mean GPAA claims, so all you can do is look at the properties. If you decide to live in a gold bearing part of Arizona like I do, you have additional clubs you can join which have state only claims, like Roadrunner with claims all over Arizona, or local to the Area like Big Bug Mining District Gold Prospectors Club for Mayer, Arizona. Also, if you would like to know how many claims are active in a 1 nm X 1 NM area, you can look on BLM records which I do by goign to mylandmatters.org
