I'm new to GPAA even though I've been off and on gold panning Central CA for about 20 years. I signed up for the Bautista Claim meet up on 18-19 October because I've never searched for gold in anyplace that wasn't a creek or river. I own 2 sluices (and a highbanker set-up), pans, and 2 metal detectors. But I don't know what to use in Bautista as I see it's a dry, desert like area and I don't own or have ever used a dry washer. I'm eager to learn during the 2 day event, but kind of prospecting can I really do? Should I bring a large tub of water? Do I pair up with another member that has the right equipment that would be interested in me joining them? Any suggestions would help me to prepare for the event.
