Wondering if there is a section in the Forum that one can ask if anyone will be on a particular claim on a particular day? I'm going to Placer Pete on Tuesday and would rather be around other GPAA members than by myself as per my wife, who's worried about my health. Thank you.

Hi Tina. Placer Pete's is one of the easier claims to find. Up Hinkley Road north from the Hwy. 58. You would probably need a google map app on your phone or iPad to get you straight to the claim. Once you are on Coolgardie Road, you run right into the claim. In fact, the road goes through the claim. I'll try and send a map. I've changed my mind on going to Placer Pete's this week and instead going to AZ as some of the other club members are going. Might be going to Placer Pete's the following week if it doesn't rain. I'll let you know. If you look at the map where Hinkley is, Hinkley road runs north. When you get to the last houses on your left, you turn right on the diagonal. Be careful when you turn on as it there is a lot of sand. Make sure you go fast enough to not get stuck. I'll send another message when I get back from lunch on the iPad. It's easier and I can send the mileage between turns.

Map won't let me do that. Not going to try and guesstimate. You need to look at the map from Hinkley Road at the diagonal. Take the map from google or apple and find the claim. If you go to Placer Pete's on this site it will give you the coordinates. Then touch that on the map and you can see where you are at and where you need to go. Good luck.

Hi all, Rich here. New GPAA member and I am 1, looking for prospecting buddies. 2, looking for areas to use my metal detectors I live in La Quinta from November thru most of May. If anyone is also looking for someone to prospect with, I should be available most of the time. I’m a real greenhorn when it comes to prospecting. I’ve done a lot of metal detecting and have watched countless videos for the last several years but never been out for the gold. I am very much ready to put what I think I know to practice. Lol. I have a GPX 5000 and a NOX 800 for detecting. Anybody out there that is interested in same, please let me know.. Rich B
