Hi Kevin, At the Gold Trails event at I Bar in May you discussed the California prohibition against operating mechanical equipment within 300' of a river or stream. I was interested in learning more and wondered if you would expound upon that topic a bit. What are the specific regs? I couldn't find something that would prohibit say a dry washer operating at 275' from a stream. I have confidence in your knowledge, but I couldn't properly explain this to one of my buds in my local club. Thanks, Sean

Sean, Great question, section/Title 13172.5 Of the water code and section/title 5653 California Fish and Game. Hope that helps.

Tad, The article popped up in my feed this morning and I have been doing deep dives since. My main goal is to review cases that are centered around EPA overreach and states intervention, or complacency. Give me some time dig into this and there is a huge amount of data going back a few decades.
