GPAA to host PLP Grand Prize Raffle Friday, July 22

Public Lands for the People has moved the drawing of its 2016 Grand Prize Raffle to Friday, July 22, to facilitate live coverage of the event at the Gold Prospectors Association of America national office in Temecula. Calif.

The drawing will be broadcast streaming live at 10 a.m. PDT on Facebook.com/GoldProspectors or via Livestream.com/GoldProspectors using a PC, Apple/Android Device, or Roku. Comments will be enabled so we encourage your interaction during the event. Follow this link: http://livestream.com/goldprospectors/events/5841467

“We are really excited to do the live feed with GPAA,” said PLP President Ron Kliewer. “I think it will be very successful. I also want to thank GPAA for their longterm support of PLP.”

For those who want to purchase last-minute tickets, call Timothy Eakin at (949) 484-9147 or email info@publiclandsforthepeople.orgTickets are $1 each or $10 for a book of 12 tickets.

Ticket holders who normally hand in their tickets at Keene Engineering in Chatsworth, Calif., will have a chance to hand them in the night before the drawing, Kliewer said.

“We will have a courier at Keene Engineering to pick up the tickets on Thursday night,” Kliewer said. “We just want to make sure everyone gets their tickets in. That’s why we moved the drawing to Friday, and we wanted to make provisions to make sure that nobody gets left out.”

Proceeds from the raffle go to PLP’s fight to keep public lands open to mining and to legal battles, such as the People v. Rinehart case, which is currently before the Supreme Court of California.
