BIG NOSE KATE #1 & YELA FEVER
Step 1 of 1
BIG NOSE KATE #1 & YELA FEVER
Just spent the day at Big Nose Kate #1 and Yella Fever
I parked on the far north end of the claim. There is a large parking area and several fenced in camp spots. August 27 and the temp was 29 degrees at 6 a.m. and 69 at noon.
The water was crystal literally glittered with pyrite. The gold I found was small flower gold. I also found quite a few pigeon blood colored garnets.
The water depth was between 3-12 inches
If you are looking for seclusion and a chance to get away this is definitely it
I will be going back again when i have more time

Nice area, heavily worked.
Step 1 of 1
Nice area, heavily worked.
We spent two days here. The claim is well marked, easy access, the directions are spot on. The Miller Lake campsite is completely destroyed due to logging. There is an alternative campsite just past Fox Creek, you can’t miss it. No services, just a place for the trailer.
I dug long, hard and deep under big rocks. I could pan a flake here and there. Nothing very exciting.
Beautiful scenery. We stayed in the Woods Landing campground.
