Head northeast out of Georgetown on Wentworth Springs Road for 10.5 miles until you come to the Bald Mountain Staging Area turnoff. You know you are close when you see the Bald Mtn Staging Area sign.

6/5/17 UPDATE: Easiest access is to go east through Georgetown on Wentworth Springs Road. Just before Quintette, turn right onto Bald Mtn. Rd (OHV Staging Area). In about a mile or so the road splits; go left to Rock Creek Rd. Turn left on Rock Crk. Rd. Whaler Crk. is just a few miles down Rock Crk. Rd. Nice chip-seal roads the whole way off of Wentworth Springs Road.

Parking is available on both sides of the bridge and a few places along the road.
There is space for a small camping group, although limited.

This is more informational. The directions are good, except the signs have been changed. When I was there last month the sign of the main road was damaged and I drove by.

Cant you just take Rock creek rd. off of Wentworth Springs rd. and follow it to the claim?
