GOLDEN GOBBLER

I would recommend accessing this claim with an ATV or short wheel base 4X4. There are a couple deep ditches in the road. Last year, I got my long bed crew cab F250 caught in the first one and had to use 4 wheel drive to pull myself out. Both front and rear bumper were hung up. This is a beautiful area down in the bottom by the creek going from desert to green grass and trees. The water level today 26 Jan 2017 was about 2-3 feet higher than this time last year.
North of Phoenix on Hwy I-17, take exit 259 turn West on Bloody Basin Rd/West Yavapai 73 County Rd. Continue on road for 3.2 miles to stop sign at Cordes Ranch. Turn left at stop sign onto Antelope Creek Rd. At the 6 mile point, at the Y in the road, (Bumble Bee to the left, Crown King to the Right) keep right. At 6.9 mile point turn right at stop sign on to Yavapai 59 County Rd. At 7.8 miles, keep left at Y in road. At the 10 mile point from Hwy I-17 you will see a cattle loading chute on the right side of the road. (Coordinates N 34° 16’ 36.67” E-112° 13’ 29.98”) Turn right onto trail 9225A. There is also a sign at mail box (Wolf Run Tr). Continue down trail to Y in the road. Keep to the right onto trail 9273F. Going left will take you to private property. There is also a GPAA sign at the Y (Coordinates N 34° 16’ 53.06” E-112° 13’ 22.86”). Continue down road to coordinates N 34° 17’ 2.80” E-112° 13’ 16.50”. As near as I can tell, this is the Southwest corner of the GPAA claim. Continue down road to creek at the bottom. The GPAA claim boundary is up stream just beyond the point where another small creek enters the main creek. The other side of this line is private property. I have request the four corner coordinates from the GPAA office and will post them as soon as I get them or until I get out to the site again and am able to locate the other 3 corner posts.

The previous comments are true - unless you have a stomping quality 4x4, do not try to drive to the claim. There is a pull off that could fit 2 cars that you can reach using a less capable vehicle. If you park there, you have a third of a mile walk to carry your gear in.

Same directions as said, we made it in and out with 2 wheel drive 98 astro van, there is very nice textured gold trapped on and in the left side and 2 feet of every shovel has gold and has been there a long time, we were flooded out but still very nice gold there, astro tuff slash s10 pickup , but you can get down careful of the oilpan hole makers...

Dennis is correct, but you might get down with 2wd, but you'll need 4wd to get out lol. No water this 13th Day of Dec, 2017. No cell service either. Gonna set up camp nearby and get back right after I get my Tesoro tuned in Prescott.
